Lara Croft Biographies
Over the years, Lara has had many biographies written about her, some very early ones that didn't become official and some that depend on an era in the franchise.
There are the most biographies in the classic era, and some of them are inconsistent with each other, but if you rely on widely available and official sources, there are only a few that stand out: the biography in the 'Tomb Raider' (1996) game manual, the 1999 official website biography (to include Von Croy), and then the 'Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness' biography (as seen in the TRAoD Style Guide). There is also a biography written for the young Lara Croft, as seen on the official website in 1999, to add more story behind her first adventure.
'Tomb Raider: Legend' only had one biography that spanned across the 3 games in the 1st Crystal Dynamics era of the franchise, and it wasn't updated as the games released. It loosely keeps some story aspects from the 2 movies before it, and even denounces points from the classic biography and games.
'Tomb Raider' (2013) rebooted the franchise and so a new biography was written, and it is less indepth than the ultimate classic biography. It sets up Lara's character as if the world of tomb raiding was a natural progression for her skills but also highlights how sheltered her life was to harsh realities whilst growing up.
When the first movie released, the official movie website released a modified classic biography to fit with the film's version of Lara. The obvious differences would be the father's name and his disappearance. It wasn't updated when the second movie released.
