Curses

Curses were a social feature. If you were connected to Facebook and had a friend who played Relic Run, you could send them one of 6 Curses. They were as follows:
  • Tunnel Vision - "The target's vision narrows to only a small view on the world." - Cost 350 Coins
  • Fun House - "The target's view of the world becomes horribly distorted." - Cost 200 Coins
  • Vertigo Poison - "The target will suffer severe vertigo, distorting their view of the world." - Cost 350 Coins
  • VCR Repair - "Target finds themselves in a recording that has been played back too many times." - Cost 200 Coins
  • 8-Bit Blues - "Target is overwhelmed with pixelation." - Cost 250 Coins
  • Neon Night - "Neon. Neon everywhere!" - Cost 250 Coins
To protect yourself against any curse, you could purchase an 'Onyx Turtle Charm' from the in-game store for 350 Gems. There was also an achievement for surviving 10 curses.

The February 2016 update to the game removed this feature.

Gameplay

When Lara Croft Relic Run originally released, the only objective in the game was to run. It was one straight level. Once you had found enough clues, you would next collect a relic. The level wouldn't end, unless you died, and you could continue in the same run to collect more clues for the next relic.

On 14th October 2015, the game updated and completely changed the way that it played. A level system was implemented, breaking the game into 120 levels. You could now scroll up or down the screen to move to a different location. Each level is now ranked with up to three stars and each level has a different objective, such as run a certain distance, collect a certain amount of coins or find the relic.
