Prototype Merchandise
Playmates Talking Lara Croft Doll
________________________________
This amazing figure would have measured 12 inches tall, created using authentic fabric fashion and rooted hair and would have spoken 'hundreds' of phrases from the Tomb Raider video game series. It was planned to have been available to buy in July 1999 for the price of $29.99.

Variant Packaging of the 'Lara on her Street Assault Motorbike' Figure
|
More various designs than prototypes, but still interesting to see.
|
Tomb Raider (2013) Minimates - different enemies. Lara doesn't ever wear these outfits, in fact, the far right Lara looks to be wearing the Avaitrix DLC outfit. Himiko is not skeletal in final release.
|
Revealed at SDCC 2015, this Lara is more softer looking than the final model and her hair has less flicks.
|
Created for Weta Workshop by Holly Craig, this prototype box art teases us with what could have been a figure of Lara from the mobile game, Tomb Raider Reloaded, presumably before the Mini Epics figures were unveiled. See the source for the full artwork.

Lara Croft Replica Backpack
________________________________
Proposed by Idea Planet as part of a bundle of goodies, fans had the chance to get their hands on a replica Lara Croft backpack through official means for the first time ever. However it had one caveat; it needed to be supported by 2500 people between the dates of February 14th 2024 to March 31st 2024 before it would have gone into production. The bundle cost $119, without shipping or taxes, but it didn't reach its goal.
