Enemies

Shark
Easier to avoid than you may believe but they do have a powerful bite. You can use the harpoon gun to kill them but the best tactic may be to avoid confrontation with them.

Snow Leopard
A snow leopard will charge at Lara and try to maul her. A single snow leopard might not seem a threat but they often hunt together, leaving Lara to decide which is closest. The M16 is one of the best weapons against them if you have the distance to take aim at them.

A.V.A.L.A.N.C.H.E. Handgun Mercenary
This mercenary isn't too much of a threat. He has a fast firing weapon but if you can get behind him and use obstacles to take advantage of his animation changing, you should be able to deal with him without taking much damage.

Bald Eagle
Much like the crow, it can be difficult to get a lock onto these enemies but an eagle will try and swoop down to claw at Lara. Take this time to kill it.

A.V.AL.A.N.C.H.E. Snowmobile Guy
These are tough enemies to go up against. They ride upon a red A.V.A.L.A.N.C.H.E snowmobile, which is more powerful than Lara's snow camo snowmobile because it is armed with a mounted gun. Try to hide behind obstacles and take shots at them.

Doberman
The Doberman has been trained to attack strangers and intruders. They will jump at Lara and try to bite her.

A.V.A.L.A.N.C.H.E. Shotgun Mercenary
This mercenary uses a powerful shotgun, which can be devastating if Lara chooses to fight him face on. Maybe use a shotgun back on him or get behind him to shoot him in the back.

A.V.A.L.A.N.C.H.E. Flamethrower
A dangerous opponent with a long ranged weapon. Remember to stay back and take out either your weapon of choice or a long range weapon too.

A.V.A.L.A.N.C.H.E. Bat Mercenary
This enemy isn't too dangerous if you can attack him from a distance. Luckily, if you're trying to put some distance between yourself and this guy, at least he won't shoot you in the back.

Crow
Crows are not a threat to Lara's health bar but they can be difficult to target as they circle high above Lara. You will almost always hear them squawk before you see them. The pistols are good enough to use against them.

Rat
A few shots from Lara's pistols will take care of a rat, even less with the automatic pistols, if you are happy to use other guns on these tiny enemies.

Wolf
Lara's pistols are good enough for these but to get the job done quicker, the shotgun and automatic pistols are also ideal.

Gold Catfish
Gold catfishes act exactly as regular catfish. They aren't much trouble even with a harpoon gun.

Fiamma Nera Mercenary
Not sure what this guy is doing here - but it's most likely that the developers forgot to change the symbol on his coat. This thug is a mean enemy. He uses an SMG and can cause quite a bit of damage. When you first seen him, you'll have the Inuit Warriors with you so you can choose to let them deal with him, but be ready in case he comes after Lara instead. If you fight him yourself, try and stay behind him.

Polar Bear
The polar bear is tougher than the bear seen back in Peru in Tomb Raider 1. Sadly, it can sometimes get stuck in the scenery and therefore the player can use this to their advantage. When you first see it, you can use a long range weapon or you can get up close with some fast firing weapons.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Furnace of the Gods
Sasquatch
These guys should look somewhat familiar to players of Tomb Raider 2. Their appearance and their cries are more terrifying than they are but they are still dangerous foes. They will swing their fists and try to pummel Lara to death. They can climb up onto ledges to chase after you but you can use that time to take a few shots at them. The M16 or grenade gun will kill them quickly if they scare you.

Guardian
Another familiar enemy, the guardian is a frightful creature with a terrifying cry. Based on the Buddhist/ Hindu mythical creature, the Garuda, the guardian is part human and part bird. He is dangerous with his fists and will take painful swipes at Lara, even picking her up and shaking her against the ground until dead. Take out your preferred weapon and take him out.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Kingdom
Venetian Gunman​
Oh no! It's one of the gunmen from Venice! He can be a threat as he is good at picking off Lara from a distance. However he isn't the toughest of foes. ​Jumping side to side helps to dodge some of his attacks and almost any weapon other than the pistols will take him down quicker.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Nightmare in Vegas
T-Rex
The T-Rex makes an appearance in Lara's Nightmare. It acts and attacks as it did in Tomb Raider 1 and Tomb Raider 2. Just like in Tomb Raider 2, you can fight 2 of them - or you can try to avoid battle as you go for the pickups and one of the gold secrets.
