Madame Paveaux
(1796 - 1844)
An evil magician who rose to power in the New Orleans underworld by using dark magic and by sacrificing people, which gained her the name 'The Dark Queen'. In 1844, a mob of people - including Pino Lamor - broke into her home, burnt it down and threw her over a cliff edge, killing her. 

In modern times, she has a cult following of people who wanted to raise her from the dead, calling themselves 'Cult of the Dark Queen'. Amongst other things, her sword would be needed as it had the power of resurrection.

Jane
An old friend of Lara's who worked at the Museum of Antiquities in New York. She had discovered the Sword of Madame Paveaux from a shipwreck off the coast of Florida. When Lara visited her at the museum, the pair witnessed the theft of the sword. ​

The Bokor
(? - 2001) 
The leader of the Cult of the Dark Queen. 'The Bokor' is actually the title for the leader of the cult, not character name. The Cult's aim is to resurrect Madame Paveaux. In 2001, he met Lara Croft in the level 'Rooftops', where he hung from a helicopter and dropped bombs on her. He then took out the sword and cut Lara's arm, claiming her to be the Chosen One, before flying off. He finally appeared in the last level, 'Caves', where Lara was able to defeat him. His powers include levitation, invisibility and shooting fire energy projectiles.​

Pino Lamor
An old shaman who lives in a disused part of the subway under the old Bergen Street line, in New York. He had been a part of the movement dedicated to destroying the Boker but had since lived in hiding. In 2001, he helped Lara by telling her of the Cult's whereabouts and then helped her onto a train that would take her to the Docks.​
