Hillary
1962 - Hillary is good with a shotgun, keeping one in his bedroom in case of intruders. He also often sparred with Lara, showcasing his skills in Kendo. The novel of the first movie aged him as 39 in 2001. The novel of the second movie says that Hillary and his family had served the Crofts for more than a generation; he had lived in the manor longer than Lara had and knew a lot of things about it and of the Croft family. |
Bryce Turing
Bryce is a trusted friend of Lara Croft who designs and engineers Lara's weapons and equipment, sometimes even allowed to join her on her adventures. He lives outside of Croft Manor, in his trailer, but during the day he works in an office inside. He built his own robot that he called 'S.I.M.O.N' that Lara uses to practise her skills against from time to time. He has some sort of interest in video games, having gotten many hours in on flight simulators, one hundred and fifty to be precise. Not much is known about Bryce's family, except what is given in the novel of the movies and the movie companion books: he has a great aunt called Petunia, an uncle called Mort and an aunt called Tilly, who wasn't too happy when he quit university. His aunt Tilly also provides him meals on a regular basis, but he doesn’t eat them so Hillary bins them on a daily basis. When Lara’s mansion came under attack, Bryce was willing to help Lara however he had been barred in his caravan so he aided Lara by communicating to her via a headset, telling her which cars each enemy was stood by in the garage. Lara accidentally shoots the windscreen of one vehicle but the novel says that Bryce had taken the lotus out for a spin that day and didn’t park it back in the proper place; hence Lara believing that the car was in its specific spot when it wasn’t. In the novel of ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’, Bryce describes his line of work as electronics, custom work security, weaponry and repair work. In the novel of ‘Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life’, Bryce is shown to be open-minded as he believes in aliens and is willing to accept the unknown. |
