The Shay-Ling
A syndicate of ruthless Chinese criminals. They make their money by illegal activities, such as selling artefacts. They attempted to sell the orb from the Luna Temple to Dr Jonathan Reiss and the terracotta warriors. The syndicate was ran by Chen Lo and his younger brother Xien Lo, however in 2003 Chen was killed by Lara Croft when Terry Sheridan and herself visited them to reclaim the orb. Xien was later killed by Reiss.​

Reiss' Mercenaries
Trained mercenaries hired by Jonathan Reiss to help him secure Pandora's Box. However much they relied on their training, it wasn't enough to get them through the Petrified Forest.

The Shadow Guardians
The Guardians live in the Petrified Forest on the Doinyo Lengai, the mountain of God in Tanzania (location stated in the novel). These creatures move fast and can absorb themselves into rocks and trees. They are triggered by movement. They're not really enemies, merely protectors of Pandora's Box.
