Path of the Stars

On March 19th 2018, Crystal Dynamics teased fans and made them use their own puzzling solving skills to earn the very first piece of Shadow of the Tomb Raider artwork. There were 5 puzzles, set out over 5 levels, and completing each level with a 5,000 group total revealed a small portion of the artwork. Individual completion of the level earned you a piece of a constellation to use on the final level.

​The puzzles involved rotating the rings to match the Mayan glyphs, moving the two rings to make a date or rotating the rings to make a constellation.

Play Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s Path of the Stars Puzzle!

As you patiently wait for Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s full April 27th reveal, solve the Path of the Stars puzzle for a chance to win prizes and unlock clues to Lara Croft’s next adventure! Immersed in Mayan lore and the authentic glyphs that were used for communication, the puzzle requires wits and attention to detail to solve each of five levels.

A new level will launch every Monday along with a new chance to win a unique prize, leading up to the grand reveal. For fans in participating countries, complete Level 1 by March 22nd at 9:00AM PST / 12:00PM EST / 06:00PM CET for a chance to win a trip for two to a Shadow of the Tomb Raider Reveal Event in Montreal, Los Angeles, or London! You and a friend will have the chance to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider, mingle with the development team, and enjoy delicious food and drinks. After completing each level, you will be prompted to share the Shadow of the Tomb Raider teaser trailer and puzzle on your social channels for up to 10 additional contest entries each week. Additionally, join together with fellow fans for weekly crowd unlocks! When Level 1 is completed 5,000 times, a new reward will unlock and give you a sneak-peak into Shadow.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available on Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4, PS4 Pro, and PC on September 14, 2018.

The first puzzle was completed by the community within the day, opening up the first piece of the SotTR jigsaw. ​Piece #2 came early as a "mid-week treat" on March 21st.

​On March 23rd, a third jigsaw piece was provided to fans.

Level 2 - March 26th 2018

​Level 2 of the Shadow of the #TombRaider Path of the Stars puzzle is live - play it at TombRaider.com! When the level is completed 5,000 times, we’ll release piece #4 of our mystery image. Attention to detail is key with these Mayan glyphs!

For fans in participating countries, complete Level 2 by April 2nd for a chance to win a digital Steam code for Tomb Raider 2013 Game of the Year Edition and Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration! Official Rules.

The community completed the challenge and a new piece of the jigsaw was awarded on March 28th.

On the 30th, the final piece of artwork was available, and fans could now put all of them together to form one large picture.

Level 3 - April 2nd 2018

Even though the artwork had been fully revealed, fans could continue to play the new levels to be eligible for prizes.
The award for completing level 3's puzzle was a sound clip from the game.

Level 4 - April 9th 2018

The award for completing level 4's puzzle was a second sound clip from the game. It can still be heard here.
