The Hidden Past - The Forge

Some items related to Abby’s family.

Abby’s grandmother left these clues for her to find the truth. Seems like the Ortiz women have always been determined and headstrong.
Picture
Marks on the Map

This simple map seems to hold secrets.

Abby’s grandmother, Mariana, used lemon juice as invisible ink to hide three small X’s – like a classic treasure map.
Picture
Mariana’s Location

It’s a map of Kuwaq Yaku.

Abby’s grandmother wanted her to have this, but why? Pilar didn’t seem to know. It has to have something to do with the riddle she wrote on the back: “I have hidden the truth, as Abigaile will find. But to uncover it, she must take a trip back in time,”
Picture
Mariana’s Location Revealed

There has to be something we’re not seeing...

There. I thought it was a small blemish when I first looked at it, but, in this light... It looks like a Maya hieroglyph. It means “Truth”.
Picture
A Piece of the Chakana
Mam

A piece of stone.

There’s a three-stepped edge on one side that looks to have been carved by hand.

Interesting. The other edge is roughly broken, like it’s been shattered. This is only a piece of something larger.
Picture
More of the Chakana
Mam

Another piece of stone like the last.

Hand-carved on one side...

Broken on the other. Definitely part of something larger. It’s almost familiar, but... I wonder...
Picture
The Final Piece
Mam

The final piece of the puzzle.

I thought the pieces looked familiar. It’s not until I put them all together that I can see it.

It’s the chakana, the Inca cross. There are many interpretations of the cross, debated even amongst the Inca themselves, but it’s an extremely important symbol nonetheless.
Picture
Porvenir Hardhat

A Porvenir hardhat.

Whoever was wearing this either had a splitting headache, or... they didn’t leave at all.

Wait... There’s dried blood here.

The Age Makers - The Pillar

Clues on the path to the truth.

Some tried to find the Shield and succeeded. But was it really the physical item itself they were seeking, the legend it embodies, or the power its secrets represent?
Picture
The Shield of the Age Maker

The Shield of the Age Maker.

Its construction is so simple: wooden boss, leather enarmes... but the details are extraordinary. The front of the shield is embossed in gold, and seems to tell an entire story. There’s so much inscribed here, I can’t quite make it all out.

But here, this looks like it says... sacrifice the... weaving?

Sibling Tragedy - The Price of Survival

Items from Amaru and Sayri’s past.

Amaru’s boyhood was like many others: He played outdoors, dreamed of adventure, and had a secret hideout he shared only with his brother. But time and responsibility turned the innocent boy into a man. Then tragedy and Trinity turned the man into... What he is now.
Picture
Cypher Wheel Position 1
Mam

Maya cipher wheel, original position.

The symbol in the center reads Place of the Flooded Underworld. And with the symbol for Pyramid in the uppermost position, the exposed symbols are, clockwise from the top:
- New
- He Who Writes
- Fire
- Road
Picture
Cypher Wheel Position 2
Mam

Maya cipher wheel, second position.

With Yellow in the South, the exposed symbols are:
- Road
- Mountain
- Sky
- East
Picture
Hidden Clue
Mam

Red key.

This key was interred with Sayri’s body, which means Amaru put it here. Was he trying to keep it preserved, or keep it hidden? Probably both.

There’s a Mayan symbol on it, similar to the ones on the cipher wheel, representing North.
Picture
Cypher Wheel Position 3
Mam

Maya cipher wheel, third position.

Red in the North. The exposed symbols are:
- Dancing
- Tree
- Water
- Nine, or many
Picture
Trial Reward
Mam

Victory Marker.

The writing on the mural is Mayan, but it’s an abridged quote from the Book of Revelation: “I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake, and the moon became as blood. For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

And after the quote, an inscription: “He who has proven his worth by walking this Path of the Righteous shall take his rightful place as First among the Sanctified.” The entire temple is a test for the leadership of Trinity!

Respect For The Gods - The Grand Caiman

Zipacna’s domain.

The people who’ve lived here for centuries know the land and they know its traditions. Whether or not Trinity’s actions are responsible for the volcanic activity, they should have tread more carefully.
Picture
Crab Relic
Mam

An ornate crab.

The crab is traditionally Zipacna’s favourite food. In order to set the trap, the Hero Twins created a decoy crab and used it as bait for him. It worked!

Based on the design of this crab, it was probably created as an elaborate offering. It must occupy a place of central importance in the Temple of Zipacna.

Return To The Heavens - The Path Home

Return to the Heavens

Rewards for noble service.

The Yaaxil, protectors of the Key of Chak Chel and the Silver Box of Ix Chel, originated in the same domain they did. And they were created by Xquic, who was also the mother of the Hero Twins. Now that the fate of the Key and the Box has been decided, the Yaaxil are no longer needed. They have returned home.
Picture
Fate of the Yaaxil
Mam

Gateway to the Heavens.

The Yaaxil have proven their worthiness. As a final test, they solved the mystery of this shrine to Xquic, opening the gateway. Then they formed a procession and left this plane, returning to the one from which they came.
