Game Modes
Whilst the whole concept of the game remains the same, there are several different modes you can play to earn extra goodies and to give you an objective to work towards.
Main Game
In the World menu, you'll be faced with the main gameplay mode, called 'Chapters'. Progressing in this mode unlocks the levels you can play in the other modes. Playing through the Chapters earns you Coins, XP, Gear, Relic pieces, Shards and Runes. The Chapters are of increasing difficulty and have a different number of Stages to complete. Each attempt costs 5 Tickets.
Whilst there is an Event running, it is by playing through the main game that you can earn Stickers or complete Tasks. |
Tombs
Once you have completed a Chapter, you then have the chance to run through the same set of levels in a smaller challenge, but the difficulty increases after each Tomb. The Tombs begin at Chapter 3, 'City of Vilcabamba'. Each Tomb costs 3 Tickets. You will collect 'Skull Keys' upon the completion of a Tomb to unlock milestone rewards; you can collect these rewards after every 5 Tombs that are completed. You have to play the Tombs in numerical order. There are 25 Tombs in each Chapter and each one has 10 Stages. Each attempt will earn you Coins, XP and Gear. You only see Anaya and Winston at the start of the Tomb.
Whilst there is a Sticker Event running, you will not earn Stickers by playing Tombs, but if there is a Task event running, your progress will add to the Event goals. Daily Challenges, Daily Tasks, Weekly Tasks and Goals will also include the Tombs into your progress. |
Events
Currently there are 2 types of Events - Sticker and Task based - each one lasts around a week and they alternate each week. You take part in the Events by simply playing through the main game. There are also seasonal events that last 2 weeks; the last one, 'Spring Loaded' (May 2023), was a combination of Sticker and Task events.
By taking part, you have the chance to earn Event Points, which you can then use to get hold of Outfit Pieces, Weapons, Gear, Coins, Shards, Blueprints, Manuals, more Stickers and Runes. It isn't mandatory to take part in the Events and occasionally in the Store, you'll have the opportunity to purchase these items for Gems. |
Coin Chase
A recent addition to the game (June 2023), the Coin Chase allow players to simply run through a series of Stages for a higher amount of Coins earned, by defeating enemies. There are 20 Stages to complete. You will see Anaya but you won't see Winston. Also, you are not presented with the chance to use Scrolls.
This mode is only available on Mondays and Thursdays. Currently, you can only attempt them twice each time they are available, and each attempt costs 5 Tickets. |
Manual Mashup
Added on August 11th 2023, the Manual Mashup is a mode similar to the Coin Chase, where you play through 20 Stages, defeating enemies to collect all kinds of Manuals. Naturally, you'll receive more of the Common Manuals than the Epic and Legendary. You will see Anaya but you won't see Winston or Von Croy. Also, you are not presented with the chance to use Scrolls.
This mode is only available on Tuesdays and Fridays. Currently, you can only attempt them twice each time they are available, and each attempt costs 5 Tickets. |
Shard Shuffle
Another mode added on August 12th 2023, the Shard Shuffle is your chance to earn more Shards used for upgrading Relics. Players can through 20 Stages, defeating enemies of increasing difficulty. You will see Anaya but you won't see Winston or Von Croy. Also, you are not presented with the chance to use Scrolls.
This mode is only available on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Currently, you can only attempt them twice each time they are available, and each attempt costs 5 Tickets. |
Old Modes
Zone Based Modes
This mode required players to stay in the designated zones to collect 'Zone Points' whilst eliminating as many enemies as you could. The Zones would only stay available for a short amount of time (9 seconds) before disappearing and you had to move to the next one. You could select a few abilities at the start of the run and would then have chances at various points to choose more to increase your power. The more points you earned, the more Milestone Rewards you unlocked. During the 'Temple of the Moon' mode, there were also health zones where players could stand and top up on their health. These zones worked the same as the point zones. They were found under the 'Events' tab. Each attempt used a different type of ticket, called 'Event Ticket, and would cost 5 of these to play. The Zone Based Modes that players could experience were:
