Enemies

Picture
Blue Shark
Surprisingly not too threatening an enemy; they'll be the first enemy that you will encounter and your first chance to learn underwater combat. Use the Spear Gun rather than the pistols.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Mediterranean Sea
Picture
Jellyfish
They seem to huddle in large numbers in rather small spaces but they don't move too much so you'll be able to swim past them.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Mediterranean Sea
Picture
Kraken
This creature isn't really an enemy, just unfortunately blocking the way that Lara wants to go. You'll have to solve a whole puzzle in the underwater chambers in order to kill him, so no need to waste ammo.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Mediterranean Sea

Mercenary
What more can you say about mercs? Hired by Amanda, they guard her ship in the Mediterranean Sea and will appear further on in the game. They use rifles, AK47s in fact and will shoot on sight. If you find yourself taking on three at a time, throw a sticky grenade. If you fancy trying a pacifist playthrough, use the tranq gun.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Mediterranean Sea
Picture
Bat
Easy targets to kill. One shot from Lara's trusty pistols will usually do the trick if a bat is in range.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Coastal Thailand
Picture
Tiger
With just pistols and no adrenaline headshot, tigers can be tough opponents. Will often hunt in groups of two or three.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Coastal Thailand
Picture
Small Spider
Little nuisances and will usually be in small groups of at least four or five, but if Lara can aim on them, a single bullet evaporates them. They will leap at Lara, cling on her and keep nipping at her until she shakes them off. She can also stomp on them, if that makes you feel better.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Coastal Thailand

Naga
These 'mythical' creatures can move quickly, scuttling up and down vertical surfaces too but they are relatively easy to kill. If you get ambushed by a group, use bigger guns. The green naga can spit venom; the red naga is faster. Both can also scratch with their claws.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Coastal Thailand
Picture
Cat Thrall
Somehow affected by eitr, these large cats have lost any outer distinguishing features. Richard Croft takes a few Tiger thralls from Coastal Thailand back to Croft Manor and Lara will later see Jaguar thralls in Southern Mexico. You can shoot them to 'down' them but you'll need to stomp on them to kill them permanently.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Croft Manor (Tiger Thrall) | Southern Mexico (Jaguar Thrall)
Picture
Poacher
Are poachers ever good? They will shoot at the jaguars so you can either sneak by or kill the poachers... and then have to kill the jaguars.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Southern Mexico
Picture
Jaguar
Can also be called a Black Panther. a fast and powerful animal that will try and bite and claw at Lara. If you want to - but we're not saying that you should - you could use the bike against them.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Southern Mexico
Picture
Giant Spider
If you didn't like the little spiders, you're probably not going to like these. They have been mutated by eitr and you can see every little detail. They can leap, climb vertical walls and will rear up at Lara if they get close enough.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Southern Mexico
Picture
Mayan Thrall
These were once humans from the Maya empire but they have been mutated by the eitr. Once spawned, unless Lara stomps on them, they will keep getting back up. Also as a warning, not only do these guys swing their arms against Lara, they will also spit eitr at her.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Southern Mexico
Picture
Yeti Thrall
Another creature affected by the eitr, the yeti is a large opponent and requires more bullets to put it down. Jump on it to finish it or else you'll have a second fight on your hands.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Jan Mayen Island
Picture
Viking Thrall
These old humans have become thralls. Treat them like any other thrall and remember to jump on them when they are down to permanently kill them. They attack like the Mayan thralls do - with their arms and by spitting eitr.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Jan Mayen Island
Picture
Greenland Shark
Just like the blue shark, even if Lara is minding her business, they will hone in and attack, which they do so by biting. Use whatever weapon you wish on them. At this point, you'll have a certain weapon with you that you can also wield.

FIRST APPEARANCE: Arctic Sea
