Alison, who was 23 at the time, was a receptionist when she got the part of Lara Croft. Unlike the previous faces, Alison was not a model and she had gymnastic abilities. As a gymnast for Great Britain, she has performed across the UK, impressing Prince Charles when she appeared at a special event at Westminster Abbey. She is also a coach of young gymnasts. Recently she choreographed the routine for the junior team that won the British National Championships. She was already prepared for the part of Lara as she attends the gym six times per week, but she also had take SAS survival, combat and semi-automatic weapon firing courses, and a crash course in archaeology. ​
