Story
Lara wakes up and realises that she is without weapons. She has been brought to an Offshore Rig. Making her way through, she retrieves her weapons and saves a monk named Brother Chen Barkhang in the Diving Area. He tells her about how his father bombed Gianni’s vessel, the Maria Doria, and that he is here to stop his son from getting the Seraph. Whilst changing into a wetsuit, Lara asks him about the Seraph, a key which is needed to unlock a treasure in their Monastery. Marco emerges from a ledge above them and kills the monk. Lara fires back whilst running to the water. She dives in and swims to the bottom where a submarine is about to make its voyage to the Wreck of the Maria Doria.
Lara makes her way through the ship, through the Living Quarters and onto the Deck, looking for the Seraph. After some puzzle solving, Lara gains access to the storage room and picks up the Seraph. She uses a buoy to help take her to surface, and then climbs inside Marco’s sea plane to take her to the Tibetan Foothills, to Barkhang Monastery.
She explores the Monastery and uses the Seraph to unlock a door to the Catacombs of the Talion underneath, a location guarding the very key that is needed for the door in China. She makes her way to the Ice Palace, where she battles the Guardian before grabbing the Talion. She emerges from the cave quietly and steals one of the Fiamma Nera jeeps. This causes a chase with another jeep; however Lara manages to destroy their vehicle. Marco Bartoli gives chase for the artefact but when she jumps over a large pit, she manages to leave him behind. Despite reaching the Temple of Xian first, it is Bartoli who grabs the Dagger of Xian; Lara witnesses him stabbing himself with the Dagger of Xian to claim its power. Knowing that she must stop him, she makes her way through the Floating Islands, lands of jade and stone that appear to float magically in the air and reaches the Dragon’s Lair. Bartoli has been transformed into a large dragon, so Lara grabs her weapons and shoots him enough to stun him, making him fall to the ground. She quickly pulls the dagger out of its heart and studies it. Moments later, the body of the dragon dissolves, leaving only its bones. The temple begins to collapse, so after putting the dagger safely away, Lara sprints out through a cave passageway, the explosion pushing her out onto the rocks and knocking her unconscious. When she wakes, Lara decides to go back home.
