In early July 2003, this sticker was put up in the male showers of over 200 German fitness studios as part of a ‘Showers With Lara Croft’ advertising promotion. The promotion only ran for four weeks [1].
It was advertised on the Eidos Germany website on July 2nd 2003. The information read: Enjoy the sparkling water with Lara Croft - Germany's fitness fans now have this unique opportunity. The virtual dream woman is now waiting for (male) company in the shower rooms of over 200 fitness studios. The "Showers with Lara Croft" campaign is a shower advertisement from the computer game manufacturer EIDOS Interactive, in which life-size Lara Croft stickers adorn the shower walls of German fitness studios. If you want to take a shower with Lara Croft, you should hurry because the campaign only runs for four weeks. After that, fitness and Lara Croft fans have to shower alone again. What a pity! Lars Winkler, Director Marketing & Product at EIDOS Interactive: "The PC version of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness is available today. And of course we wanted to break new ground with our marketing activities for the release of the latest Lara Croft adventure." Lara Croft "is such an action that we deviate from the usual marketing and at the same time effectively gain more attention for the new game. And which computer game character is better suited to this than Lara Croft." |
