Alpha Omega
Set in the far future, Polly Gon (a holographic Lara Croft) takes visitors around Croft Manor, which has now been converted into a museum to show off all of Lara Croft’s discoveries. When the lights go out though, thieves decide to steal a few relics, all while reciting Lara’s adventures.
Artefacts:
Lotus of Lakshmi
Lara Croft's first treasure, discovered when she was just 8 years old. It was found in a hidden temple in an Indian mountain, dedicated to Vishnu and his love, Lakshmi, Goddess of wealth and good fortune. Lara was with her parents on an expedition and a guide, Dr. Panjabi. She picked up the Lotus despite her father telling her not to touch anything. In a temper, Dr. Panjabi accidentally triggers the collapse of the roof of the temple and they all flee. Thankfully Lara still had the treasure. |
Shang-Ti Dynasty Vase
In her teens, Lara was in Hong Kong, and she had uncovered a Shang-Ti Dynasty vase. She was soon chased by the Chin Tong syndicate, and when she had managed to get away from them, she dropped the vase and it broke. Baked inside the vase, hidden under a false bottom, was the seal of the fabled Emperor. |
Schubert’s Eight Symphony
Had it not of been for Lara Croft rediscovering this piece of music in the private collection of Mr Von Bruin in Vienna, the world would not know of its existence. Von Bruin had built a large music box to listen to the piece but Lara followed him in to the room, which was a mechanical deathtrap. In order to survive this room, Lara needed to know where each note fell on each bar. Lara was successful, much to the surprise of Von Bruin and when questioned by him of how she knew the tune, she replied that on their first evening together, he hummed the tune in his sleep. |
Sinbad’s Astrolabe
It was discovered by Lara Croft in an uncharted area of the Arabian Sea, also known as 'The Edge of the World', in a wreckage belonging to the legendary Sinbad. Lara is not alone as Yusuff and his pirates are waiting for the treasure. She hands over the treasure chest but secretly has Sinbad's astrolabe on her person. As they get away, she says some magical words and the pirates boat explodes. |
Claw of the Last Yeti
This is not the same one that is in the Croft Museum; the ornate Claw of the Yeti has a jewel encrusted handle and was found at the Monastery of the Waning Moon in Tibet but is currently on display at the British Museum. Lara Croft attempted to steal this artefact from the Monastery but the monks who were guarding it chased after her and asked for it back. Lara handed it over willingly and was allowed to live. They warned her that it bore a terrible curse that if it scratched a living being, “it dooms one to live out the rest of their life in interesting times”. As they leave and Lara stands, a Yeti towers over her; it is the claw of this Yeti that Lara has in her collection. |
Baddies:
Yuseff
He and his pirates met up with Lara Croft in the Arabian Sea after being informed by Habib; they had planned on stealing her treasure, Sinbad's treasure chest. She allowed them to take it as she had the real treasure on her person, Sinbad's Astrolabe but as they sailed away, Lara used the power of the Astrolabe and with some magic words, the pirates boat exploded. |
