Artefacts:

The Cat
Lara Croft and Terrence Butterman discovered this statuette inside a temple in 2001. It was sat on a stone pedestal, which was between the paws of a large cat statue. The room itself that it was in was sealed, requiring the use of a sceptre in a hidden lock. Legends say that whoever owns the Cat will be granted with nine lives, however it comes at the cost of becoming a large cat. It is white stone, adorned with gold necklaces and is of a cat sat upright. It remains sealed inside the temple, along with Terrence, whose greed for money overcame him. He claimed the cat and became one himself.

Cat Sceptre
Lara Croft, along with Terrence Butterman found it among the treasures in a chamber before the room where The Cat artefact was found. It is a type of key, used in a secret lock to open and seal a hidden room holding The Cat artefact. When Terrence had gotten greedy after seeing all the treasure and trinkets in the previous room, he attempted to kill Lara and steal The Cat statuette. However he transformed into a large, black cat and Lara was forced to leave him inside the temple. She took the sceptre with her so that no one could ever open it, and Butterman could never leave. In appearance, it is a long, silver pole with a golden, slightly pointed and gem encrusted tip. When put into the lock, light shines out of the green gem to the side, and opens or close the hidden door.

Baddies:

Terrence Butterman
A journalist for the magazine 'American Geographic'. In 2001, Lara accepted his letter to join her on one of her adventures. She had taken him with her to find an idol called 'The Cat'. Previously, he had written a harsh portrayal of treasure hunters and Lara wanted him to see that not everyone defiled tombs and stole treasure for personal profit. Inside the cat's temple, Lara saved Terrence from walking into a dart trap. When they had found a chamber filled with gold and trinkets, he became overwhelmed by the sheer value of all the treasures. He then followed Lara when she found a room where the Cat was placed. She told him the legend behind it, that whoever owns it is granted nine lives. Terrence shot Lara in the back, taking the artefact and hoping to secure all the gold. However, he soon painfully transformed into a large, black cat, which was the other part of the legend, and Lara was forced to seal him inside the tomb. She took with her the sceptre used to lock the room so that no one could get in or out.
